My Dearest Nemesis

As a high school senior, Baek Su Jeong began playing an online game where she met another player nicknamed “Black Dragon.” They unexpectedly got close, developing crushes and planning a meeting in real life… that concluded in humiliation and disaster when “Black Dragon” turned out to be an awkward middle schooler instead of the young man he portrayed himself to be!

Sixteen years later, Su Jeong is a skilled planner at Yongseong Department Store, but her job is about to get a shakeup with the arrival of Ban Ju Yeon, the ambitious new head of strategic planning and heir to the company. There’s just one problem: Ban Ju Yeon is actually “Black Dragon,” and Su Jeong still holds a grudge. Will their past come back to haunt them, or can they find a way to resolve their misunderstandings – and even find love as adults?

Thoughts: It’s been a rough go for me with dramas for the last two years but I was surprised when I came across pictures of these two online. I swore they were actually dating. But now that I see they are in this drama together, I feel like it was just the promotion for the show. Either way, I went in seeing if what people were saying was true. The premise of it is a simple set up for romance comedy gold. Particularly I don’t really find Choi Hyun Wook as someone who can play a serious chaebol but here we are. Moon Ga Young’s Baek Su Jeong feels very split. One moment she is this badass worker bitch but then she is this aegyo sweet girl. It’s a little jarring in scenes. But I think the duality of both characters might work in the favor of drama. I’m glad this will only be 12 episodes because I don’t think there is enough plot to carry it to 16.
