So.. Hi! I didn’t know if I wanted to review this show separately or together but since I watched it together, I thought it best to just do it together. This drama was a surprise in all honesty. I didn’t even know what possessed me to pick it up in the first place, but I am so glad I did. Since I decided to do both parts together I will just give a general feedback on this as a whole.

Story: This was a really good coming of age story which really touched me. I thought that it was such a believable timeline of a relationship developing from childhood to high school then to university. I actually enjoyed the ups and downs and all the angsts that this drama delivered because it felt so tangible you know? One of my favorite moments in part one was when Oh-aew was telling Teh about his crush on Baz and it was just a nice moment of someone freaking out and hyping their friend’s crush. It was so natural and I was just so happy. And then in part two when Oh-aew told his mother and her reaction.. Eeep. I know that a lot of people consider that part two doesn’t hold up to part one, but it is a different show with a different vibe. Like is this show a little toxic and messy? Yes. But it’s a coming of age… We’re dealing with first loves, unrequited loves, cheating, unresolved feelings etc.. It’s bound to be like that.

Acting: Everyone did a really good job! From the young actors to our main boys everyone did what they had to do. Let me tell you guys that casting makes a hell of a lot of a difference with a story like this. If there isn’t synergy and chemistry then it’s just difficult to swallow or actively root for a couple through all the bullshit. I couldn’t stop cheesing with the cute moments because it was hitting. Your girl was like wooow stop being like this ffs. And even I was feeling upset and hurt in certain moments. I am on the majority in that Oh-aew was just amazing idc. That being said, I still understood Teh even if he needed his ass beat a couple times.

Cinematography: Hands down the best directing and filming I have seen in a thai drama to date. The shots were STUNNING. I was in awe of everything because let’s be real, what I am used to here has been less than stellar. People have noted it as being very similar to Call Me By Your Name, but I’ve never seen it nor do I ever intend to because a) I don’t like age gap romances and b) I especially don’t like age gap romances where someone is underage. However, if CMBYN was your thing then you will absolutely devour this drama.

Overall, this drama is now my NUMBER ONE BL Thai Drama and all I gotta say is that other dramas have some big shoes to fill. I know my rating may be off for how much I liked it, but remember that this is a combination of both parts and the rating is averaged out.
