What’s this? Another feature? Yes… I’m addicted. Well actually, I decided to scrap the Freshmen Finds because I just couldn’t keep up with the rookies. Instead I figured since I consider myself a midway kpop stan, basically I’m 3 years in but I really like older k-pop as well, this feature came to mind.
I’ll be taking two artists, one preferably with some years between their early music videos and a more recent or in some cases, their last release, and compare them. I’m pretty sure I will be laughing at some of the choices made or just the overall vibe of the MV. Let’s get it poppin!
2PM
(JYP Entertainment 2008 – 2016 Hiatus)

GREATEST
10 out of 10 (2008)
The CHEESE!! Talk about cringe worthy. I don’t know if I cringed more from the wardrobe and hair or the storyline. The song is pretty good and what you expect from JYP. What I didn’t expect was the obvious pursuing of a female. I guess 2PM was really out their trying to shoot their shots. It was kinda nice seeing early Jay Park looking all small among his fellow members.

Iconic Moment: Wooyoung daydreaming about sucking on the girl’s finger and then realizing he was sucking on Jun. K’s. Hilarious

Promise (I’ll Be) (2016)
Now this is the 2PM I was introduced to when I got into K-pop. Grown ass men who about getting panties and not numbers like those debut boys in the MV above. The budget had obviously grown since 2008 but these men still getting girls in hotels. I didn’t really get the concept but looked like these women were playing them against each other. Poor Chansung, Nichkhun, and Junho!

Iconic Moment: Jun. K getting frisky and playful in the bed with the leading girl. It was adorable and nice to see that body!
Wonder Girls
(JYP Entertainment 2007 – 2016 Disbanded)

GREATEST
Irony (2007)
I don’t know what I’m surprised most about. Either the fact that this MV had a highest quality of 240 or that I couldn’t recognize Sunmi or Hyuna until almost the end. But basically talk about classic. I loved the concept of Charlie’s Angels meets lets fuck with your ex voodoo doll style.

Iconic Moment: Them playing with the voodoo doll and watching the guy squirm.

Why So Lonely (2016)
Almost ten years between the two videos and after line-up changes and a sexier images, Wonder Girls are still saying fuck men and their rights. I love the island groove of the song and the band concept. The colorful template of keeps me intrigued and I am all here for the sexy Sunmi I was first introduced to. I miss them so much.

Iconic Moment: After they steal the dummy and tie him up in the room and basically go ham on his ass. Living for it.
