A “gangster lawyer” who doesn’t trust the law and feels free to use his fists. He takes advantage of loopholes in the law and boasts an excellent win rate. Other lawyers may consider the legal code sacred, but he considers it more of a tool “like an appliance user manual.” He fights against those in absolute power, standing all alone in the world, driven solely by the thought of avenging his mother.

Yes.. At last.. Finally writing this review. Everyone who knows me personally knows that I have very few dramas that I will claim to be my favorites and when it comes to favorites they must be able to hold up to a second rewatch. I was nervous going into this one for a second watch because I was afraid that I ended up liking it a lot more than I would have because at the time it was the only drama keeping my attention. So how did Lawless Lawyer hold up for my second watch? Continue on….

This is my official second time watching this drama and I must say that I realized a few things that I had initially missed. The one thing that remained certain was that Seo Ye Ji and Lee Joon Gi had some bomb ass chemistry. The audience (ME) demands another season or another show with this pairing.. I think we’re being robbed in broad daylight if they do not meet up again. I see him doing another drama with Moon Chae Won and I want that for me. I am filing a petition who will join me?

The thing with this rewatch was that I noticed a lot more flaws in the plot than I did initially. It was also a lot more draggy than I remembered. I do think that a few secondary characters could have been fleshed out more and there were huge parts that were a bit inconsistent. Although the main villains were good the other intermediary bad guys were flawed. Another issue that I saw more clearly was the plot line of the mother’s return and working with Cha Moon Sook. Also why did the father suck so much? Anyways….. Other than those pitfalls the acting prowess of the team truly makes up for everything. A story is only as good as it’s actors and the actors showed the fuck out. I mean there are cases where you have a great script but the acting can cause everything to fall apart.

I still freaking loved hearing the theme song and OST. It got me so pumped and I enjoyed so many of the action scenes. The comic relief given of the whole Lawless crew was lovely. We need a second season fam. We really do. The cast chemistry is absolutely bonkers and that makes this something that I will rewatch time and time again. From this take two look at this drama it provided me with everything I needed to deem it a favorite.

  • Amazing Cast
  • Great Acting
  • EXCEPTIONAL CHEMISTRY ~
  • Multifaceted Villains
  • Flawed Characters
  • Good Action Scenes
  • Great OST

I mean honestly speaking, what more could a gal ask for? I GOT A FUCKING BED SCENE. THEY SMASHED.
