Two times for the month??? Two times?? Another JDRAMA that I actually like again? Shooketh.. Now this has been on my watchlist for so long and since I didn’t feel like reading I decided that I would just watch something on my watchlist while I wait on Henri to knock my power out. Once again, pleasantly surprised with this one.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I started this a while back, but it’s basically a live action game set in a dystopian world on crack and we stan! I wasn’t aware that this was adapted from a manga, but I thought it was done well. If there’s one thing we can count on with a Netflix original it is the production and budget that goes into it. I won’t speak too much on the story because I feel like it will spoil too much, but the games are the biggest selling point here!
The acting was pretty solid for the most part and I loved how compelling the back stories were for each of the characters. Without a doubt Usagi was my girl.. #SorryNotSorry.. I really enjoyed the concept of each person having a counterpart that aligned with the original tale of Alice In Wonderland. I also enjoyed that we got the backstories for the villains that didn’t necessarliy dimish their character arcs.
Of course there’s a lot of gore in this one so if that’s not your style then you should probably skip it. I will say I enjoyed this as much as I did Sweet Home (except Sweet Home was more of a character show and I liked that a bit better) and I am excited for Season Two.
