Thoughts: You know how sometimes there’s a drama that you think was handpicked and made for you? Like here we have my girl, Kim Yoo Jung, and my one time obsession, Ahn Hyo Seop as the leads of a drama and it was like if that wasn’t enough they made it a historical romance BUT WAIT THEY ALSO MADE IT A FANTASY HISTORICAL ROMANCE? Truly someone in Kdramaland was looking out for me?? The first two episodes of this exceeded my expectations because I didn’t even really know what to expect. I didn’t know what story we were getting but I was seated for it anyways. I’m so intrigued by everything that this is offering right now. We have the right balance of comedy, romance, political intrigue and fantasy. It’s giving the feel of a xianxia and we know how much I eat that shit up. Kim Yoo Jung in historical garb really hits the spot and while I don’t find Ahn Hyo Seop awfully attractive here like I did in Dr. Romantic 2, if he keeps taking his shirt off like he did in episode 2, I can be persuaded to change my mind. So, because I did watch the first 2 episodes completely blind, pun intended, I was disappointed that Gong Myung wasn’t the evil plotting wannabe prince.. in any event his interest in our female lead is welcomed cause idk I feel like I like a little chaos. Anyways I will be watching more and I cannot wait to see how this story unfolds. When I start calling this show trash cause they both die in the end then what.
Recommendations: If you’re into fantasy, historicals and wanna see the cutest child actors have the sweetest chemistry.
