Thoughts: There was no way that I was going to pass this up. Park Seo Joon is like my guy. Would I have wanted another romantic comedy, yes. But also, I’m glad this isn’t romance centric, or at least I don’t see it that way. It’s nice to see the way all these different characters will develop and change over the course of the series. At first, I felt like it was going slow but the episode hit turning point when Seo Joon’s Park Sae Ro Yi couldn’t let an injustice go and punches the son of his dad’s boss. The tension only grew from there. The acting in this so far is amazing. And there is one scene between Sae Ro Yi and his dad’s boss that gave me chills. Not sure if it was the acting alone or the combination of the music with the acting. It’s rare that a first episode can make me cry and feel the things so fast. Bravo Itaewon Class.
The only thing I would make a negative comment about is having Park Seo Joon, Nara and Ahn Bo Hyun playing their high school selves because who is gonna believe these are students. No matter how good they look, they don’t pass for 19 year olds anymore. And Ahn Bo Hyun’s TERRIBLE bleached hair. It was distracting. Hopefully my enthusiasm stays the whole way through. Cause we all know how I like to drop things…
