SUGAR BABY’S CASTING CALL – ‘TWILIGHT’

Salut! For the most recent casting call we did Hocus Pocus as a part of our Halloween special and someone *cough Lazy Unnie* reallllly wanted to do the vampire phenomenon Twilight. If you have been living under a rock for the last 10 years and have never heard of Twilight then the synopsis is as follows:

High-school student Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), always a bit of a misfit, doesn’t expect life to change much when she moves from sunny Arizona to rainy Washington state. Then she meets Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a handsome but mysterious teen whose eyes seem to peer directly into her soul. Edward is a vampire whose family does not drink blood, and Bella, far from being frightened, enters into a dangerous romance with her immortal soulmate.

So basically its like Bella and Edward’s love story and it spans like four books and five movies; single-handedly starting the completely unnecessary cycle of breaking up the final book in a YA series into two parts… Literally the bane of my existence.. Hunger Games. Harry Potter

Now, for this episode I had a lot of help from Lazy Unnie because unlike me she has legitimately watched every movie in the series and read the books. The only thing I did was read half of the first book when I was about 14ish as a part of our book exchange, watched 40 mins of the first movie on a flight to Jamaica and binged all the videos on cinemasins. So basically what I’m saying is that these are her opinions and if you really feel some type of way about this casting then take it up with her and not me. Mwah!

Isabella Swan – Won Jin Ah

I just think its funny how home girl gets Chang Wook right after I cast her in Twilight.. I loved her in Just Between Lovers and I genuinely think she can capture the innocence behind Bella and also show a range of emotions? Even though Bella doesn’t really have that many emotions. But Won Jin Ah looks like her Bella would definitely throw caution to the wind and ride a sparkly vampire.

Edward Cullen – Kim Jae Young

It took us FOREVER to find a suitable Edward. Legit… foreverrrrr!! It’s hard trying to find someone that could be eternally young and broody. Jae Young pulls off broody very well and gives that vampirey vibes. He was one of the stand outs for me in 100 Days My Prince and I would like to see how he would tackle being a lead. Plus, to be Edward you really have to make everyone fall for you. I think he could do that.

JACOB BLACK – YOO SEUNG HO

Adorable with a capital A. That is what Yoo Seung Ho is. He also looks like he could play a nice second lead to our Edward. Even though his latest dramas are on my to be watched list, from things I’ve seen, he can play the nice boy next door and at the core, that’s what Jacob is.

EMMETT CULLEN – OK TAECYEON

Yes, Taecyeon isn’t as big as Kellan Lutz was when he played Emmett but seeing how big he got while in the military gives him the right to play the gentle brute. Taecyeon’s smile and all around good personality is what allows him to play a good Emmett.

JASPER HALE – LEE MIN KI

I don’t think there is anyone else who could pull off this look of “I could murder you if I wanted” but looks hot while doing it. Being an empath, Jasper is supposed to have a lot of deep struggles, with his blood lust and others. Min Ki just has that tortured soul look to him.

ALICE CULLEN – CHAE SOO BIN

Another actress I haven’t really seen but the look is SPOT on. She’s tiny and stylish and a nice component to be the soon to be best friend of Bella.

ROSALIE HALE – LEE SUN BIN

Personally, I’ve not see Sun Bin in any acting roles. But her look is the one you need to be Rosalie Hale. Rosalie’s backstory is tragic but she comes across as having this bitchy quality but a tender heart. I’m sure Sun Bin could tap in and dig deeper to play this role.

ESME CULLEN – JANG NA RA

I don’t know about you, but Na Ra just radiates mother energy. Like she could be a homemaker and wrangler of 5 eternal vampire young adults. Maybe it’s cause she already played a mom to be in Fated To Love You, but I can really see her as the matriarch of the Cullen Clan.

CARLISLE CULLEN – JI CHANG WOOK

I have to admit, I originally forgot about Carlisle but when picking the right person, there would be no other than this gorgeous man. Carlisle is supposed to be a doctor and young enough to look like he doesn’t have five children. Check and Check. Chang Wook can pull off sophisticated and mysterious. I think I need a physical.

CHARLIE SWAN – JANG HYUK

Hello Daddy. Yes, Jang Hyuk can pull off being that gruff, bumbling sheriff of a small town. He would bring the awkward dad of a teenage daughter but also have the comedic timing for it. It would also be nice to see him in a uniform.

RENEE DWYER – LEE HA NUI

Lee Honey just radiates young fun mom and that is what Renee is supposed to be. Does she look like the kind of person that would just pick up and follow her young baseball player husband around? Yes. And look fabulous doing so.

JAMES – LEE JOON

I’ve personally not seen him in anything yet but I’ve been told and read that he has already played a vampire before. He looks like he could kill it as a sadistic vampire who likes to play with his food. Plus, seeing him go up against Kim Jae Young’s Edward would be really nice to see.

victoria – lee elijah

This woman can play bitch like no other. I’ve seen her in two roles so far and she knows how to make me hate her. And you’re supposed to HATE Victoria. But at the same time, you can feel some sympathy for her. Lee Elijah can do just that. I would love to see her as a rampaging vampire sometime in the future.

And instead of giving these supporting characters their own little thing, I’ve just complied them into a gallery. So I present you with Jessica Stanley, Angela Webber, Eric Yoke and Mike Newton.
